Security Systems and Plans

This company is sometimes simply referred to as First Alert Pro. Its affordable home alarm monitoring programs begin at just $19.95, one of the lowest in the industry. This basic package includes 1 alarm panel, 1 keychain remote, 1 keypad, 2 doo/window sensors, 1 alarm and 1 motion detector. That package is similar to most entry-level home security systems.

That’s a good package for small homes or apartments, but probably won’t meet your needs if your home is larger than 1,200 square feet or has more than 2 doors. If you want vulnerable first-floor windows covered too, that will require more sensors and more cost.

First Alert Professional offers an enhanced package known as Total Connect that can include video services. The value of Total Connect is that it allows you complete remote access and control of all security functions. It also includes a variety of alerts sent to you in the way that works best for you – SMS, email or other means.

First Alert Professional maintains a state of the art home alarm monitoring center where all alerts are routed. The highly-trained personnel will respond appropriately to any alarms or alerts coming from your home’s security system.

When additional components are needed, First Alert Professional will customize a package to fit your home’s layout and your security goals.

Features and Accessories

Beyond the standard package, there are many features and accessories you can add to make your home more secure. Convenience features also allow you to view your home’s video feeds from remote locations using a computer, your smart phone or other digital device.

For upgraded home security systems, consider adding one or more of these accessories: standard window/door sensors, recessed door sensors, temperature/floor/flood sensors, motion detectors, home alarms, keychain remotes, heat/smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, glass-break detectors, outdoor motion sensors, video surveillance cameras or asset protection devices. The asset protection devices easily attached to any valuable item and will sound home alarms if moved.

Many parents are using First Alert Pro video home security systems to monitor the activities of children and caretakers while they’re away. Some customers are also using video to keep an eye on elderly parents who prefer to maintain their independence by living in their own home.

Installation Information

First Alert Professional handles all of the installation, and since most of the equipment is wireless, it’s a pretty easy process.

Upfront and Monthly Monitoring Costs

First Alert Professional home security charges an initial $289 installation and activation fee. The company owns the equipment and it is covered by a lifetime warranty during the course of the contract.

As noted, security system prices begin at $19.99 per month and the contract is just 24 months. This is one of the most affordable plans on the market. For larger homes where more equipment is recommended, prices will increase accordingly. No matter how complex the system is that you choose, First Alert Pro home security prices are among the most reasonable you’ll find.

Since it’s hard to compare companies based solely on their base monthly rates, it makes sense to get written estimates from several home security system providers. Then you can compare the bottom line security system prices to determine which one offers the most value for your home.

Really like all the features and options I was provided and the monthly cost is worth the price. Thought the installation cost was a bit steep, but with the low monthly cost and shorter contract, it made it worth it to me.
