Security Systems and Plans
Here’s an overview of each home security system from Lifeshield Security.
Silver: The system includes a kit with the following equipment – 1 base, 1 programming console, 3 door/window sensors, 1 fire safety sensor, 1 motion detection sensor, 1 keychain remote, 1 yard sign and 1 decal. There are 2 indoor 100 decibel siren-type home alarms. The total equipment package is valued at $877.
Gold: This kit has the same equipment as the Silver kit. The Silver and Gold packages are designed to monitor 3 openings to your home. Additional sensors can be added to the order. The only difference in the Gold home security plan is that the contract is longer, so Lifeshield Security provides a $5 break per month on pricing.
Platinum: This kit offers one additional piece of equipment, a wireless camera with video monitoring from any location that has internet access.
LifeView video surveillance plans: These are the premium home security system services from Lifeshield Security. The plan is tailored to your individual needs and preferences. The fees are significantly higher than Lifeshield Security regular plans, but the peace of mind that comes from being able to monitor your home from anywhere at any time is worth it to parents, those with elderly living with them and other types of homeowners.
Features and Accessories
For small homes and apartments, the Silver system covering 3 openings and including one motion detector might be enough. If you live in a larger home and need additional protection, your home security system can be upgraded to include what you need.
Here are the costs for extra items: Door/window sensors, $28 each; motion detection sensor, $59; console, $140; HomeView wireless camera, $170; optional cellular gateway, $270; glass break sensor, $106; keychain remote, $30; smoke & heat detector, $108; temperature and water sensor, $76; and wireless grid extender, $90.
Additional services provided by Lifeshield Security include carbon monoxide monitoring, flood and freeze monitoring and complete video surveillance monitoring. When you buy the needed equipment, the monitoring services are free with your standard plan.
All Lifeshield Security systems are designed so that the homeowner can install the system easily, with few if any tools. Installation usually takes less than one hour. If you would like help installing the system, Lifeshield can provide it for an additional cost. The price for the installation of the home security equipment varies.
Up Front and Monthly Monitoring Costs
There are two ways to pay with Lifeshield Security systems. You can choose a contract length and make regular payments as you would with a cellphone bill. Or, you can prepay the entire cost of the equipment (see security system prices above).
If you choose to go with a contract, here are current home security prices. For the Silver Plan, the upfront cost for activation is $99 and the monthly home alarm monitoring fee is $29.99. The length of the contract is 36 months.
For the Gold Plan, the upfront cost is $99 but the monitoring fee is just $24.99 per month. This is because the contract is for 60 months.
The upfront cost of the Lifeshield Security Platinum package is $149. The monthly home alarm monitoring fee is 34.98 and the contract is for 36 months.
The Gold Package is a very good value, and if you move, the equipment can be taken with you and used for the duration of the contract. Once the contract is up, the equipment is yours.
If you prepay the cost of the equipment package at the start of the contract, Lifeshield Security allows you to go month to month on the home alarm monitoring fee.
As you compare security system and prices and features, pay close attention to the cost of extra equipment. That’s often where you discover the real out-of-pocket costs for your home security system.
Lifeshield Security gets good home security reviews for reasonable monthly fees and the prices for extra equipment are quite competitive with those of other leading home security companies.
